Quantified and Second Nature both sell AI roleplay with scoring and certification, and both now reach past practice into field coaching. The split is the market. Quantified is built for life sciences and other regulated industries, where every practice session has to stay on approved, on-label messaging and readiness has to be provable. Second Nature is built for breadth: sales, enablement, L&D and support teams across industries and 30+ languages, with a deal coach added for live opportunities.
Both are practice platforms first. For a map of how roleplay tools, conversation intelligence and AI sales coaching differ as categories, see our comparison of AI sales tools. This page compares the two vendors on what their own sites say, read on 31 October 2026.
Regulated certification or broad practice
Pick Quantified if a regulator or a medical-legal-regulatory (MLR) review stands between your content and your reps, and you need an audit trail showing each rep practiced and passed on approved claims. Pick Second Nature if you need realistic practice and certification across several teams, languages and use cases, plugged into an existing LMS. If the problem is that reps are certified but deals still stall, the decision is a third one, covered at the end.

Quantified: certification for regulated teams
Quantified calls itself "The #1 Platform for Life Sciences and Regulated Industries" on its homepage. What its pages show:
- Personas for the market. HCPs by specialty, payers and formulary committees, "each carrying the objections your reps hear most."
- Built from approved content. "Self-Authoring turns MLR-approved materials into scenarios and rubrics in days."
- Compliance in every session. "Compliance AI checks every response against on-label messaging. Off-label language is flagged."
- Certification with a record. Reps "certify on demonstrated behavior, scored against your own criteria and exemplars, with an audit-ready record."
- Field coaching. "Field AI" for "pre-call prep, post-call debriefs, and ongoing reinforcement."
- Service. A white-glove build team "included in every AI Roleplay program."
- Integrations. Salesforce, Veeva, LMS platforms and approved-content systems, per its FAQ.
Its pricing page describes one all-inclusive price "scoped to your field force," quoted before signing. No figures are published.
Where it fits: a pharma or medical device launch where a field force has to be certified on a new indication inside a fixed window, and compliance has to sign off on every scenario.
Second Nature: practice and certification across functions
Second Nature's homepage leads with "AI role plays and coaching that turn training into go-to-market execution." What its pages show:
- Realistic practice. Video avatars for discovery, objection handling and cold calls, plus multi-persona meetings for B2B and B2C.
- Breadth. Use cases for sales, enablement, L&D and support (escalations, complaints), in 30+ languages.
- Certification. Customer quotes on the homepage describe gamified certification programs with full completion.
- Stack fit. "Integrates with any LMS via SCORM or LTI, and a variety of CRMs, SAML, and conference tools."
- Live deals. "With Second Nature Deal Coach, sales reps receive targeted AI-driven coaching on live deals, helping them identify risks, uncover gaps, and take the right next steps."
Second Nature's site has no public pricing page as of 31 October 2026; its calls to action route to a demo.
Where it fits: a multinational with several customer-facing teams that wants one practice and certification platform tied into its LMS.

Testing both in a week
Four tests from our guide to evaluating AI sales coaching software separate these two quickly.
- Your own content. Hand each vendor one real piece of approved messaging and ask for a scenario by Friday. For a regulated team, ask Quantified to show the compliance flag firing on an off-label answer.
- Your own experts. Have two of your experienced trainers mark five practice calls, then compare the platform's scores to theirs. In our own research, trained experts disagreed with each other on 18% of scores, so judge whether the platform ranks calls in the experts' order (Can AI judge a sales call?).
- A live deal. Bring one real opportunity to each product's field or deal coach. Ask what the deal is missing and what the rep should say next. Note whether the answer uses your sales methodology's terms.
- The manager's read. Ask a front-line manager to find, in ten minutes, which rep needs coaching this week and on what.
What setup asks of your team
The two vendors describe setup differently, and the difference lands on different people in your organization.
Quantified's homepage describes a white-glove build that is always included: its team turns approved content into personas, scenarios and rubrics with yours, calibrates scoring with your trainers and exemplars, and supports the rollout. The work your side owns is supplying approved material and the trainers' time for calibration. For a regulated team, that is where the time goes anyway, because MLR review sits in the path.
Second Nature describes scenarios built by the customer's team with platform support, plus SCORM and LTI connections to an existing LMS. The work your side owns is writing and maintaining scenarios across every team that uses it. That suits an enablement or L&D function with the capacity to author, and it scales across languages and functions more easily once the authors are in place.
Before either trial, name the person who will own scenario upkeep after launch. If nobody can, weight the vendor that builds for you.
Security questions to ask both
Ask each vendor the same security questions in writing, because a practice platform holds recordings of your reps and, in a regulated market, your approved claims. Three questions cover most of it: which independent assessment reports they can share, where customer data is hosted, and whether customer data is used to train their models.
Quantified's homepage speaks to these topics. The Second Nature pages we read did not, so ask for its trust documentation directly. In both cases, read the report itself, and have your security team confirm the scope covers the product you are buying.
Choosing for a mixed team (illustrative)
The company below is invented. Corvane Medical sells devices to hospitals, with a 90-person field team under strict promotional review and a 40-person inside sales and customer support group that is not.
Robin, the enablement lead, starts by splitting the requirement. The field team needs certification on approved claims before a launch, with a record compliance can audit. The inside team needs frequent practice on objection handling and renewals, in two languages. One platform for both might be simpler to buy and harder to run well.
Robin trials Quantified with the field team on one launch scenario and checks that off-label answers get flagged. In parallel, the inside team trials Second Nature on a renewal conversation. Both trials use the four tests above. The decision comes down to whether one platform passes both sets of tests, or whether two contracts are worth the cleaner fit.
Neither trial answers the question Robin's sales leader asks on Monday, about which hospital deals are stalled and why. That stays on a separate line in the plan.
When neither is the problem
Both platforms answer the question "is this rep ready?" That question matters most in the first ninety days of a hire or the first weeks of a launch. After that, the question a sales leader asks every Monday is different: which deals will close this quarter, what is each one missing, and who is going to fix it before Friday? A certification record cannot answer that, and a practice score on a scenario says little about a specific buyer who has gone quiet.
Many teams find their reps pass certification and still lose deals at the same stage, because what happens on the live opportunity three weeks later drifts from what was certified. That is a coaching problem on the deal, and the ceiling is manager time.
Our AI sales experts work on that problem. We run roleplay too, on the rep's real deals and buyers, but the center of the product is a rep calling an expert about a live deal, in the team's own methodology: Keenan for Gap Selling, Val for the ValueSelling Framework®, and Caty for MEDDPICC or the team's own stages. The expert stages the deal by buyer evidence, names what is missing and plans the next conversation, and remembers the deal next week.
Managers get a read across the team from Bryce. Regulated teams can run Quantified for certification and Replicate Labs for live-deal coaching; our Quantified comparison and Second Nature comparison set out the details, and the AI sales coaching guide explains the category.
For a life sciences team, the order is usually certification first, then deal coaching once reps are in the field. How to run a 30-day AI sales coaching pilot covers the second step, and talk to us if a certification tool is already in place.
FAQ
What is the difference between Quantified and Second Nature?
Quantified is built for life sciences and regulated industries: scenarios from MLR-approved content, compliance checks on every response and audit-ready certification. Second Nature is built for breadth across sales, enablement, L&D and support, in 30+ languages, with LMS integration and a deal coach for live opportunities. Both sell AI roleplay with scoring and certification.
Is Quantified good for pharma sales training?
Quantified positions itself for pharma and life sciences specifically. Its pages describe HCP, payer and formulary personas, scenarios built from MLR-approved materials, a compliance layer that flags off-label language, and certification with an audit-ready record. Teams that need provable, on-label readiness before a launch are its target buyer.
Does Second Nature coach live deals?
Second Nature says it coaches live deals through Deal Coach. Its homepage says: "With Second Nature Deal Coach, sales reps receive targeted AI-driven coaching on live deals, helping them identify risks, uncover gaps, and take the right next steps." Test it in a trial by bringing one real opportunity and checking whether the advice uses your methodology's terms.
How much do Quantified and Second Nature cost?
Quantified and Second Nature do not publish prices. Quantified's pricing page describes one all-inclusive price scoped to the field force and quoted before signing. Second Nature had no public pricing page when we checked on 31 October 2026, and pricing is handled through a demo.
What are alternatives to Quantified?
For regulated certification, Quantified's closest comparisons are other roleplay and readiness platforms such as Second Nature, Mindtickle and Allego. If the need is coaching reps on live deals in their own sales methodology after certification, an AI sales coaching platform such as Replicate Labs covers that job and can run alongside a certification tool.
Can you use Quantified and an AI sales coach together?
You can use Quantified and an AI sales coach together. Certification proves a rep was ready on a given day; a deal coach keeps them executing on live opportunities afterward. A regulated team can run Quantified for audit-ready certification and use a separate coach for live-deal coaching in the team's methodology, with the manager reading across both.
