Luster and Second Nature both sell AI roleplay, certification and coaching to sales teams, so they land on the same shortlists. They start from different places. Luster calls itself a "predictive enablement" platform: it diagnoses skill gaps, predicts which reps are at risk of not being ready and prescribes practice, from hiring through to live calls. Second Nature is an AI roleplay and coaching platform built for scale, used by sales, enablement, L&D and support teams in 30+ languages, with a deal coach added for live opportunities.
One naming note before the comparison. A search for "Second Nature" also returns a UK weight-loss program at secondnature.io. The sales training company is at secondnature.ai. For how roleplay, conversation intelligence and AI coaching differ as categories, see our comparison of AI sales tools. Every vendor claim below is quoted from that vendor's own site, read on October 31, 2026.
The difference in one paragraph
Pick Luster if your enablement leader wants one system that connects hiring profiles, onboarding, training, practice and call analysis, and flags which reps are drifting before it shows in the number. Pick Second Nature if the priority is running large volumes of realistic practice and certification across several teams and many languages, plugged into the learning systems you already own. If your reps pass certification and deals still stall at the same stage, you are making a third choice, covered at the end.
Luster: predict readiness, then prescribe
Luster's homepage describes "a predictive enablement™ platform that helps go-to-market teams grow and win by identifying skill gaps before they impact revenue." Its own summary is "Diagnose. Predict. Prescribe." The products it lists:
- Predictive Insights: "Real-Time Skill Intelligence" that monitors strengths and gaps.
- Prescriptive Hiring: "RampAI benchmarks candidates against top performers and delivers personalized onboarding plans."
- Data-Driven Training: recommends training, tracks program performance and "automatically certifies readiness."
- AI Coaching: feedback "after every practice session and call, consistent with your methodology," plus coaching prompts and development plans for managers' 1:1s (Luster AI Coaching).
- Proactive Practice: roleplay for demos, pitches and objection handling, pitch certification, skill drills, and "lifelike sales calls with intelligent personas" (Luster Proactive Practice).
- EchoIQ: "analyzes real customer calls in real-time to detect skill application, pinpoint execution gaps, and inform targeted coaching."
The hiring product is the clearest thing Luster has that Second Nature does not show. Benchmarking candidates against current top performers puts Luster in front of the sales leader before a rep joins. In a trial, ask how "top performer" is defined and on how many reps, because a benchmark built on a small team can encode luck.
Pricing is by inquiry: the site's call to action is "Get in touch."
Second Nature: practice and certification at scale
Second Nature's homepage leads with "AI role plays and coaching that turn training into go-to-market execution." What it shows:
- Roleplay with avatars: discovery calls, objection handling, cold calls and multi-persona meetings for B2B and B2C, with "moving avatar" video simulations a visitor can try from the homepage.
- Teams beyond sales: separate use cases for sales, enablement, L&D and customer support.
- Deal Coach: "With Second Nature Deal Coach, sales reps receive targeted AI-driven coaching on live deals, helping them identify risks, uncover gaps, and take the right next steps."
- Reach and stack: "30+ Languages," 24/7 access on any device, and integration "with any LMS via SCORM or LTI, and a variety of CRMs, SAML, and conference tools."
On Second Nature's side, the LMS integration and the language range are what Luster's pages leave out. For a global enablement team with an existing learning platform, that matters on day one.
Second Nature publishes no pricing: its pricing URL returned "nothing was found" when we checked, and the homepage offers "Book a Demo."

Two cautions. The comparison that most buyers will find, on Exec's site, was written by a third vendor and last updated in December 2025. It lists Second Nature at "20+ languages" and says Luster's voice practice is "not explicitly confirmed"; both vendors' pages now say otherwise. Second, a prediction is only as good as the data under it. Ask Luster how long a new team runs before its readiness signals mean something.
A one-week trial that separates them
Four tests from our guide to evaluating AI sales coaching software will tell you more than a demo.
- Your scorecard, ten real calls, ranked against two managers
- The prediction check: which three reps, and why
- One live deal: what is it missing, in your method's terms
- The manager's Monday: two reps to coach this week
- Your scorecard, ten real calls. Load the same scorecard into both and score the same ten calls. Have two of your best managers rank the calls too. In our call scoring research, trained experts disagreed with each other on 18% of scores, so judge each tool on whether it puts the calls in your experts' order.
- The prediction check. Ask Luster which three reps it would flag as at risk and why. Compare that with the manager's own list.
- One live deal. Bring a late-stage opportunity to Second Nature's Deal Coach and to Luster's coaching. Ask what the deal is missing and what the rep should say next. Check whether the answer uses your method's terms.
- The manager's Monday. Give a front-line manager ten minutes in each product to find the two reps who need coaching this week, and on what.
When the problem is the deal
Both products focus on one question: is this rep ready? It dominates a rep's first months and every product launch. Many teams find the harder one comes later. A certified rep runs the method well in practice, then three weeks into a live opportunity skips the economic buyer, and nobody sees it until the forecast call. There are never enough good managers to review every rep's deals before every buyer conversation.
Replicate Labs builds AI sales experts for that job. We run roleplay too, built from the rep's real deals. The center of the product is an expert the rep calls about any live deal, in the team's own methodology: Keenan for Gap Selling, built with A Sales Growth Company; Val for the ValueSelling Framework®, built with ValueSelling Associates; Caty for MEDDPICC or the team's own stages. The expert stages the deal by buyer evidence, names what is missing, plans the next conversation and remembers the deal next week.
Managers get a read across the team from Bryce. Our Second Nature comparison sets out the detail, our Luster vs Hyperbound and Quantified vs Second Nature pages cover the neighboring choices, and the AI sales coaching guide explains the category. For a ranked view of the whole market, see the best AI sales coaching software.
If your reps pass certification in either product and still skip the economic buyer on live deals, pick one stalled opportunity and talk to us about it.
FAQ
What is the difference between Luster and Second Nature?
Luster sells predictive enablement: it diagnoses skill gaps, predicts readiness risk and prescribes practice across hiring, onboarding, training and live calls. Second Nature sells AI roleplay and certification at scale for sales, enablement, L&D and support, in 30+ languages, with a Deal Coach for live opportunities.
Is Second Nature the same company as secondnature.io?
Second Nature, the AI sales roleplay company, is a different company from secondnature.io and is at secondnature.ai. Secondnature.io is a UK health and weight-loss program that shares the name and often turns up first when people look for Second Nature comparisons. Check the domain before you read a review or book a demo.
Does Second Nature coach live deals?
Yes, according to its homepage. Second Nature Deal Coach gives reps "targeted AI-driven coaching on live deals, helping them identify risks, uncover gaps, and take the right next steps." Test it in a trial on one of your own late-stage deals and check whether the advice uses your sales methodology's terms.
How much do Luster and Second Nature cost?
Neither publishes prices as of October 31, 2026. Luster's site asks buyers to get in touch, and Second Nature's site offers a demo; its pricing URL returned no page when we checked. Expect a quote based on seats and modules, and ask both vendors what a pilot costs.
Which is better for global teams?
Second Nature shows the stronger case for global teams on its own pages: 30+ languages and LMS integration through SCORM or LTI. Luster's pages list integrations but give no language count. If your reps sell in several languages, test each product in those languages with your own scenarios before you decide.
What are alternatives to Luster and Second Nature?
For practice and readiness, buyers also compare Hyperbound, Quantified, Mindtickle and Allego. If the need is coaching reps through live deals in their own sales methodology after they are ready, an AI sales coaching platform such as Replicate Labs covers that job and can run alongside a readiness tool.
