Pick Yoodli for practice plus real-call review on one rubric, and Second Nature for lifelike roleplay with LMS-led certification.
The short answer
Yoodli and Second Nature both sell AI roleplay, and both now reach past practice in different directions. Yoodli has moved toward coaching on real calls, an AI tutor and methodology programs delivered by training firms such as Sandler and Korn Ferry, and now calls itself "the AI Platform for Human Skills". Second Nature stays centered on lifelike roleplay for sales and service teams, with courses, certification and a Deal Coach it says works on live deals.
The best-known head-to-head comparison is Yoodli's own. This piece quotes each vendor from its own site, read on 31 October 2026. It sits in our guide to sales tools compared by the job they do.
What each platform is built around
Yoodli's home page says it is "a single platform to activate revenue teams, drive AI tool training, and deliver coaching at scale". Its products are Roleplays, Personas, Create, Coach and Measure. Yoodli Coach is "a personal AI coach for every learner" that "reviews calls from Gong and Kaia, finds the pattern and turns it into the next rep" and sends "a weekly digest in Slack, Teams or email".
Second Nature's home page reads "AI role plays and coaching that turn training into go-to-market execution". Its product page promises "enterprise grade AI role play" across "1:1, group, and chat scenarios", with role plays generated "in minutes" from a freeform description or uploaded content. It integrates "with any LMS via SCORM or LTI" and a range of CRMs.

Where Yoodli fits better
Yoodli fits a team that wants practice and real-call review on one rubric, with a methodology a training partner already teaches. Its sales coaching page says reps are evaluated against your own bar, whether that is Sandler, MEDDPICC, Challenger or an in-house framework, and that "Sandler, Korn Ferry, and FranklinCovey deliver their coaching methodologies through Yoodli's platform". Managers get "dashboards" showing "each rep's skill trends and gaps across the team".
It also reaches beyond sales. Yoodli's home page covers onboarding, partner sellers, leadership and AI tool training, and its pricing page lets an individual start free, then pay $8 a month (Pro) or $20 a month (Advanced), billed annually; organizations buy Business or Enterprise seats through sales. Yoodli says data on Advanced, Business and Enterprise plans is excluded from AI training by default.
Where Second Nature fits better
Second Nature fits a sales or service team that wants realistic, repeatable roleplay and certification with little setup. Its home page offers scenarios such as discovery calls, cold calls, objection handling and multi-persona meetings for B2B and B2C, including "moving avatar" versions. Its product page says a team can "describe your scenario in freeform text or upload any content, and the AI builds a full roleplay in minutes".
It is built to run inside an existing learning stack. Second Nature "integrates with any LMS via SCORM or LTI", runs "right in mobile browser, no app download required", and supports more than 30 languages including Portuguese, Hebrew, Japanese and Polish. It reports "over 125,000 happy trainees".
Past practice: real calls and live deals
On the pages we read, Second Nature does not describe scoring recorded customer calls. It does describe coaching on deals: its home page says "with Second Nature Deal Coach, sales reps receive targeted AI-driven coaching on live deals, helping them identify risks, uncover gaps, and take the right next steps", and that managers "can guide strategy and execution more effectively". A buyer should ask Second Nature to demonstrate Deal Coach on a real opportunity, since its pages say little more about it.
Yoodli's route past practice is the call recording. Coach reviews real calls, "plays back the exact moment that needs work and builds a follow-up roleplay with a buyer who mirrors the real one". That builds the rep's skill from what happened on the call, which is a separate job from working out what one live deal is missing before the next meeting.
Running a trial of both
A two-week trial on your own material tells you more than either feature list. Run the same plan on both products.
- Pick one scenario your reps face this month. A discovery call with a skeptical operations lead, or a renewal where the buyer has a cheaper quote. Write the buyer's role, situation and two objections in a paragraph, and load it into both platforms.
- Build the rubric once. Use the method your team already runs, whether MEDDPICC, Sandler or your own, and give both products the same criteria. If either needs the rubric rewritten in its own terms, note how long that took.
- Put five reps through it twice. Mix new hires and experienced sellers. Ask them afterward which session felt closer to a real buyer, and why.
- Check the scores against your managers. Have two managers rank ten sessions, ask each product to rank the same ten, and compare the order. Judge on rank agreement: in our call-scoring research, a scorer that never read the transcript reached an average error of 0.41 against 0.43 for the best real model.
- Test the step past practice. For Yoodli, connect a recorded call and see what Coach finds and what follow-up roleplay it builds. For Second Nature, ask for Deal Coach on one live opportunity and look at what it tells the rep to do next.
- Count the admin. Who built the scenario, how long it took, and what it would take to roll out to the whole team through your LMS or call recorder.
A worked example
This team is made up. Halvern, a software company with 40 sellers, runs MEDDPICC, records calls in Gong and delivers onboarding through an LMS with SCORM. Its enablement lead has two problems: new hires take too long to run a confident first call, and experienced reps let deals drift after the demo.
For the first problem, both products fit. Second Nature slots into the LMS and certifies new hires on the first-call scenario. Yoodli scores the same scenario against the MEDDPICC rubric and then reviews the rep's first real calls from Gong.
The second problem is harder for both. Practice and call review sharpen the rep's skill, while a drifting deal needs someone to ask what the buyer has agreed to and what the next meeting has to get. Halvern's lead decides to trial both against the first problem, and to treat the second as a separate purchase.
After the practice session
That second job is the one many teams run short on, because it takes a manager's time on every deal. Our AI sales experts do it on a call, on the rep's real deals, so read this section knowing who wrote it.
Practice ends where the live deal starts. The rep talks that deal through with an expert on a call, the way they would with a manager, and types only when they cannot talk.
The experts for Gap Selling and the ValueSelling Framework® were built with the people who wrote them: Keenan with A Sales Growth Company, Val with ValueSelling Associates. MEDDPICC teams, and teams with their own playbook, work the deal with Caty. The expert asks for the buyer's evidence that method needs and plans the next conversation with the rep. On one of Halvern's drifting deals, the call starts with "What did the buyer agree to at the end of the demo?" A rep who answers "they'll get back to us" leaves with the line for the next email: a named step on the buyer's side, with a date.
The expert can also build a roleplay of the stakeholder the rep is about to meet and debrief it, and it remembers every deal. Managers get a read across the team from Bryce. Our side-by-sides are with Yoodli and Second Nature.
