Revenue intelligence is software that combines CRM, email, calendar and call data to show pipeline health, forecast revenue and flag deals at risk. It reads activity across every system a seller touches, so a leader sees the whole pipeline without asking each rep.
Where it shows up: the forecast call
The platform pulls activity from every system a seller touches and scores each deal on signals such as how recently the buyer engaged, how many stakeholders are involved and whether the deal is moving through stages on time. Sales leaders use the output in the weekly forecast call: which deals are healthy, which are slipping, where the number is soft. It differs from conversation intelligence, which analyzes what was said on calls.
- 01Pull activity from every systemCRM, email, calendar and calls
- 02Score each deal on signalsRecency, stakeholders, stage timing
- 03The forecast callHealthy, slipping, or soft
- 04The deal reviewWhat the rep does next
A risk flag tells the manager which deal needs attention. It does not decide what the rep does next, which is the argument of our post a risk score is not a fix. The category sits in its own row of our guide to sales coaching platforms.
A deal in commit with one contact
A $150,000 deal (illustrative) is in commit for the quarter. The platform flags it: only one contact has engaged in 21 days, and no one from finance has attended a meeting. The flag is right. In the forecast call, the manager moves the deal to best case and asks the rep to multi-thread. The rep still needs to know who in finance to reach, what to say to get the meeting, and what the champion should send ahead of it. That is a deal review, held as a short call before the rep's next conversation, with the manager or with Caty, our deal expert.
The question a manager asks of any flag is the same: "What did the buyer say or do that the platform could not see?" Sometimes the answer clears the flag (the CFO joined a call that was never logged). More often it confirms it, and the rep leaves with a name to reach and a reason for them to take the meeting. The difference shows in the rep's next sentence. Weak: "I'll multi-thread." Strong: "I'll ask Dana to bring her controller to Thursday's call, because the controller owns the budget line we would replace."

FAQ
What is the difference between revenue intelligence and conversation intelligence? Conversation intelligence analyzes what was said on sales calls. Revenue intelligence combines that with CRM, email and calendar data to forecast revenue and flag pipeline risk. Most large vendors now sell both, and many teams use one platform for each.
Who uses revenue intelligence? Sales leaders, RevOps and finance use it most, mainly for the forecast and pipeline reviews. Front-line managers use its risk flags to choose which deals to inspect with a rep each week.
Does revenue intelligence improve win rates? It shows which deals are at risk and where the forecast is soft. Win rates move when someone acts on the flag: the manager and rep decide the next move on the deal and the rep makes it.
